Toll Booth Controller

Toll Booth controller:

So my kids wanted to have a toll booth, for whatever reason. They like pedaling through and stopping each other, having to pay imaginary money, whatever. So I built an Arduino controlled, servo lifting, box. It has leds for the signals-to let them know to go through or not through, and an automated control for the kids, when they pull up and have “easy pass”.

So, it has a range finder sensor, one servo, a red and green led, and a button, which lets you open the gate manually. The code is listed below along with a diagram so that you could build it yourself. It can be slightly touchy depending on the range sensor-you may want to adjust the parameters depending on how long you want it to lift and how far away from the sensor your “car” is. In any case, it’s a great way to have kids have fun playing toll booth and money collector.
