3d Printing Stuff!

I had a few projects that required me to do some 3d designing again, so WHOO free parts!

Well, you’ll have to print them yourselves. Anyway, first up is a speaker mount or ¼ mount for the iruyee speaker. It’s a super cheap speaker. I’ll make no excuse there-it’s only 30 bucks, so it works as a speaker that you can mount somewhere quick and dirty. It’s also got a microphone mount AND a microphone so…you know. But anyway, I’m using 2 for a small job, and I don’t have access or a need for a 4000 watt system or even a 600 watt system so these will do. Easy peasy and quick and dirty. This snaps into place and holds them snugly. You could add some felt in there if you wanted or maybe glue or add some sticky stuff to make sure the holder doesn’t pop off. Oh, and you’ll need a ¼ inch brass inset, I have a ton of things like that so I have them lying around but you can order them off of Amazon for cheap. They’re battery powered too, so they don’t need cables. The sound is meh and obviously lacking bass but again…30 bucks.

Next!

I created a whole mount for a photo stand. If the speaker wasn’t enough, now you can position it too! It was actually for a separate project but ends up working out just the same. It’s got a screw base to mount it to the stand and a screw to turn the head. It’s not a full 180 but it’s about 150 degree range. Enough to move small lights or position them where you need them if you don’t have a proper mount. In my case, it was for an arca-swiss mount to a bowens mount-bleck-for a photo light to move it around and give some more fill. Look at the photos in order to get an idea and don’t mind the mess of my garage. This one will require a bolt and a wing nut for the main tension bolt-it’s a hefty one. And then you’ll need a size 10 screw and bolt for the stand mount. It’s counter sunk on the inside of the mount but it fits nice and snug so you just pop it in and use the screw to tension it into place. Works fer me! You’ll also need another of those ¼ mounts and then whatever you want to mount to the top. In this case, I used someone else’s arca swiss plate mount and then connected it with a ¼ screw. You can mount just about anything included a cold shoe mount if you have one of those too. I also sawed off the head of a ¼ inch bolt that was about ¾ long in order to give me a straight screw mount for other things-the cold shoe, etc, but that’s up to you. A quick and dirty hacksaw and a patient 10 minutes works for that.
