My experiences with the Printrbot

I got another printer for Christmas, when my makerbot had given me problems. It was finally the printer I wanted, no frills and no nonsense. It should just print. And for the most part it did. It also had trouble printing, and I found that the prints didn’t stick to the metal bed as well as they should. But when they did, the prints came out excellent, and it did just “work”. Of course, hoping that a print will stick or not stick is always a problem, and I came to realize that it’s a problem of temperature-on the bed, and the filament, and making sure the balance between the two is something of an art. As long as the printer is relatively warm or in a warm space, it will print nice prints, provided that the bed has a sticky surface left or tape down. And that’s awesome, since I had so much trouble just trying to print with the Makerbot. See the coolcube review to see how much better prints are that don’t warp. And the whole thing is relatively cheap too. But now that I have both running and “unlocked” some secrets, so to speak, it’s actually and finally getting fun to work with them and try and create new pieces.
