3d Printer Sagas Update

Updates to the 3d printer sagas:

So, with the printrbot, there’s some and then not much expected from a lower grade printer. It printed very well, but I had problems with the warping. After buying a cheap ebay coolcube.org (website doesn’t work, but you can still find them on ebay) heated beds, and installing them, the pinters began to work marvelously. The printrbot, in particular, works extremely well with the heated bed and is fast becoming my go to printer for quick parts. I’ve also set it up to work with a raspberry pi and octopi. Octopi was easy to setup, and easy to control. It took some time for me to adjust to using the interface and the way you would use the “system” so to speak, but it works well.

So now, probably after a year of owning both printers-a year of printing, parts breaking and having to refine them, both printers work well. And they work as well as they finally should. Which in the end, for tinkerers and hackers, is the best that you can hope for. Me personally, I like working on a project that’s beat up and restoring it to glory, and usually that doesn’t work out so well. In any case, I’m now up 2 working printers, and between them, I can print what I need to.

Also, see my review of the MG Chemicals filament. It makes a world of difference that you have a correct filament in your printer. I know there’s different temps and whatnot required, but the MG went in and works like a charm. I’ve printed in 3 different colors and it’s been the best resolution/least mistakes/high quality prints yet. And that’s saying something.

With all the adjustments I’ve made so far and the correct filaments, you get a combination that’s perfect for printing. So make sure you play around with your printer if you’re going to do so.
