Go Kart Light Relay

Go Kart Light bulb relay.

This is a simple build. It just uses a relay shield and Arduino to control a set of relays and bulbs. It turns the bulbs from red to yellow to green. I used it when I built a go kart track for my daughters birthday. We hung it across the track so that we could tell the kids when to go and when to stop, etc. They had a blast, and it’s fun to do even if you mounted it on a post or hung it across something.

The hardest part is just wiring a relay shield-which means you need to connect the power to the bulb holders, and then writing a simple program to turn on the relays for a timer. I have attached the sketch if anyone was to use it, all you need is an Arduino, relay shield, a few bulbs and bulb holders, and you’re good to go. Oh yea, a case too. You could also connect this using leds, and skip the relays and bulb holders all together but I wanted some cheap bulbs and they needed to be bright.

Next step is to wire up the go karts into something cool. I was thinking real life Mario Kart controls?
